What FoodShapes Does
FoodShapes offers specialized graphic design, illustration, and related creative services for the food business. We create sell sheets, brochures, newsletters, ads, packaging design and illustration, art for exhibits, custom illustration, and more. A note regarding web site design: Although not web site designers per se, we did design this web site and will consider requests for basic web site design. We can also adapt many of our food images for the web.

We can offer custom illustration at particularly good prices by using our large collection of digital food art as a starting point for your illustration; we can adapt and customize the art to your needs; we often don't have to start from scratch with the image.Another money-saving feature of FoodShapes is our skill with making two or three ink colors "overprint" in a illustration to create more colors. Who we are and our philosophy:
FoodShapes is a small business owned and operated by Lorraine J. Karcz, an avid lover of food and its beauty. She is an illustrator and graphic designer based in Somerville, MA. She believes that the time has come for art worthy of the natural, nutritious foods on the market today. There is beauty to be found in the field and garden, in the kitchen, and at the table, and FoodShapes is looking for it! We are glad that our efforts help good foods reach the customers who are eager for them.

How We Generally Work
After you contact us, we arrange an initial free consultation to discuss a project in detail , in person or by phone. Samples of our previous work are available if the web site has not sufficiently demonstrated what we offer.If you decide to go forward, FoodShapes does a custom, detailed estimate before proceeding with design and illustration. We request a down payment before a job commences.
When we handle coordination of printing or photography, you are billed directly from the vendor, separately from our invoice.
Currently we do not accept credit card payments.
Copyrights
We follow the standard copyright terms of professional illustrators in relation to art that we create. Except for logos, the copyright of the art, and the original artwork, remains with the illustrator; specific reproduction rights are sold to the client, which vary with the clients and their needs and the intended usage of the art.
